Exceptional Physiotherapy for Musculoskeletal & Sports Injuries

The initial discovery session involves reviewing your medical history, lifestyle factors, rehabilitation goals and performing a comprehensive physical assessment. Multiple factors are evaluated, including your posture, gait, movement patterns, biomechanics, pain, flexibility, muscular strength, core stability, shoe selection, current orthotics and more. A blueprint treatment plan is created, combining various elements, such as soft tissue mobilisation, osteopathic manual therapies, joint mobilisations, dry needling, exercise prescription, taping and bracing, and proprioceptive and balance retraining. Our mission is to help you recover so you can enjoy the freedom of pain-free movement and to return to training, competition and life healthier and stronger than ever.

Pilates / Yoga / Exercise Rehabilitation

We take a collaborative approach to your wellbeing with injury management and performance enhancement programs. We use the latest evidence-based rehabilitation and clinical Pilates exercises to boost your recovery and prevent injury recurrence.

A comprehensive evaluation will investigate the biomechanical and musculoskeletal factors contributing to your injury. Education on specific flexibility, mobility, stabilisation and balance exercises, posture and lifestyle factors will assist in correcting faulty movement patterns to optimise your healing.

Expert Tennis Medicine

As leaders in tennis medicine, we treat all types of tennis injuries. With more than seven years of experience with the world’s top WTA Tour players, we know tennis injuries inside and out.

We treat clients with all levels of tennis experience, from the junior athlete, to the high-performance professional, to world champions. We’ll analyse your technique and tennis biomechanics to identify faulty movement patterns which may be contributing to your injury. Your posture, motor control, joint mechanics, flexibility, muscle strength and core stability will be thoroughly investigated.

Our expertise in tennis medicine means that we understand the biomechanics of tennis and the demands of different court surfaces (i.e. clay vs grass vs hardcourt). We will advise you on appropriate tennis shoe selection, recovery practices, periodisation, prevention of heat illnesses, hydration concerns and blister management.

We guide you throughout your rehabilitation to ensure a safe, gradual and progressive return to training and competition, so you can have a full recovery and prevent injury recurrence.

We provide caring and compassionate treatment for primary and secondary school-aged children with sporting injuries or growth and development related injuries. We also provide postural assessment and corrective exercise programs. Our gentle approach minimises any fears your child may have. Your child’s pain is taken seriously and we work to empower them to take charge of their recovery with enthusiasm. We educate both the child and their parents about injury diagnosis, recommended treatment and specific exercises to assist in recovery. We offer a wide variety of child-friendly treatments and  exercise programs and we work collaboratively with other medical professionals or coaches involved in your child’s care.

Acupuncture

Manual Therapies & Dry Needling

We use a combination of evidence-based assessments and hands-on manual therapies for diagnosis and treatment of injuries. These treatment techniques are designed to decrease pain and inflammation, improve joint mobility, increase flexibility, improve muscle length and restore normal movement patterns to promote healing and to bring your body back to its optimal state. Hands-on techniques may include soft tissue mobilisation, osteopathic muscle energy techniques, joint mobilisation and myofascial release.

Dry needling may be utilised in your treatment session to reduce pain and inflammation, restore function and promote healing of the injured tissues. Dry needling involves the use of single, sterile and disposable acupuncture needles to release myofascial trigger points (“knots in muscles”).

At Blueprint Physiotherapy, we have completed advanced training in dry needling and have been successfully treating clients with dry needling practices for over 10 years. Dry needling is primarily used in conjunction with other treatment techniques, manual therapy and corrective exercises for a holistic approach.
